QOOBIX UID was made as a shortcut to redirect visitors to a web page making sure a difficult URL is not confusing. We provided a complete solution allowing users to sign up and register their own UIDs; but it didn't meet the public's favors and therefore we decided to make it available as a test, or as a game if you will. The UID—short for Unique Identifier or URL Identifier—is a personal code to redirect visitors from the QOOBIX.NET Platform to any page on the web. It lets you create a string up to 50 characters using letters (A to Z), numbers (0 to 9) and the @ and # symbols. The minimum digits allowed is 1, which means your UID can be the number 5 or the letter Y, for example. The UID is not case sensitive; so, you can pick, for example, “hallo” as your UID and no matter how they type the word into the box, it redirects to the URL you have set. As it is now provided as a game, it does not register anything, and you are going to lose your personal UID once the test is completed. Better still, it remains on your device because it uses cookies; however, as the cookie expires or you clean it all up, you lose your UID and the link. Here’s some of the issues that QOOBIX UID could have helped fix. Let’s say you need to advertise your website or a specific web page during a radio show or podcast. It is not so easy to get people to your URL particularly when it is long or ambiguous, not to mention the way it is voiced. Think of someone speaking on the radio who says, “Visit wemadeit4u.com” or “cost-to-cost-things2see.” Or again, when you need visitors to land on your social page, such as Facebook, Instagram, or your Ebay or Amazon store. There are so many tricky URLs out there, but this trick could have fixed them all. In order to use it, click on the homepage where it reads “Click here and try it!”, then type your favorite UID and the web page you want to link, press the button “Turn it on” and you are done, your UID is ready. Now type your UID into the “Insert UID” box and press the button “GO”.
